Journey of the Universe: An Epic Story of Cosmic, Earth, and Human Transformation: Big science, big history, big story, this one-of-a-kind film was written by Swimme and Yale University historian of religions Mary Evelyn Tucker. They weave a tapestry that draws together scientific discoveries in astronomy, geology, biology, ecology, and biodiversity with humanistic insights concerning the nature of the universe. Created by a renowned team of scientists, scholars, and award-winning filmmakers, Journey of the Universe was produced and directed by Patsy Northcutt and David Kennard. The story is also told with breathtaking clarity in the accompanying book written by Swimme and Tucker and published by Yale University Press. Read more at www.journeyoftheuniverse.org.

Sister Miriam MacGillis,  a Seven Pillars Guiding Voice and long-time friend of Founder Pir Zia Inayat-Khan, is a member of the Dominican Sisterhood. Her life of service led her to the teachings of cosmologist Father Thomas Berry,  which struck a cord in her soul. The questions his teachings brought forth changed her life, and set her on a path of tireless work in the crusade against ecological destruction. In 2005 she received the Thomas Berry Award. In 2007 Grist magazine named her one of the world’s top 15 green religious leaders. She lectures extensively and has conducted workshops in North America, Europe, and Asia.

Genesis Farm is rooted in a belief that the Universe, Earth, and all reality are permeated by the presence and power of that ultimate Holy Mystery that has been so deeply and richly expressed in the world’s spiritual traditions. They endeavor to ground their ecological and agricultural work in this deep belief. This Sacred Mystery, known by so many religious names, is the common thread in their efforts.
