Guidelines

The Imaginal Blog is designed to give space to the wisdom arising from the unconscious realm, acknowledging that inspiration, guidance and creative solutions often come more easily from waking and sleeping dream states than from thinking about things.

We invite you to email us any dreams, visual imagery or audio relevant to Seven Pillars and the wisdom emerging in the world today, to be posted on our website and potentially featured during the Wisdom House Architectonics program to be held September 4-7, 2009.

For dreams we ask that they be in the present tense, if this is comfortable for you. “I see that the sky is orange, and then I walk toward the sea. A seahorse arises from the water, and asks if I would like a ride.” Please use initials or change names (e.g. to “a person”, “a friend”, “a teacher”) to protect the privacy of anyone identifiable in the dream. Dreams will be posted anonymously.

Please send your dreams, visual imagery and audio to wisdom@sevenpillarshouse.org, listing both your name and “Imaginal Blog” in the subject line. All submissions should be your own dreams or creative work, not those of someone else.

Seven Pillars reserves the right to determine which submissions are relevant for posting. By making a submission you are giving Seven Pillars the right to publicly post your dreams and/or creative work online, and potentially to be featured during the Wisdom House Architectonics weekend.

Dream: Commentary

I am in a crowd of people. Some of their heroes are in a tent speaking. One looks like Matt Damon. There is a shot and there is blood on the wall of the tent. Someone screams.

Poetry: Underneath

Posted by Seven Pillars on July 22, 2009

When Mona Lisa adorned her face
with Mary’s understanding smile,
did she sense the Divine presence,
the hand behind the brushstrokes
that placed the curl in her smile?

Dream: The Divine Symphony

Posted by Seven Pillars on July 9, 2009

A bunch of us are outdoors in the forest.  We have to make rafts.  We start moving logs and placing them next to each other.  Everyone except myself is young (20-30's).  Some are just standing around.  Three to four of us are working really hard.  I'm lifting logs over the heads of other people.

Dream: Seven Pillars within an Onion

Posted by Seven Pillars on July 9, 2009

I am living on the ground floor of a hotel.  My apartment is adjacent to hallways and meeting rooms and a restaurant. Many people are approaching me for help, advice, support, etc.  It is endless.

The cultural historian William Irwin Thompson comes to visit but there is no room for him to sit down. The chairs in my apartment have been taken away for an event.  There is no time to talk but he gives me a gift - an onion. Inscribed on the inside of the onion is what Seven Pillars is all about.

A small group comes to me, worried about how to express Seven Pillars' message.  I tell them to rest assured, it is all within the onion just given to us as a gift.
